The Shower Warm-up

People ask why do you designate 10 minutes?

Frankly, its the perfect amount of time to get a good grasp of whatever task your tackling without neglecting the number of tasks waiting to be tackled. For example, if you start your day with my 10 minute fitness plan you get a nice start to the morning without squandering time. To greater simplify it, 10 minutes is quick, effective, and efficient.

Now I've already setup a quick morning exercise format to get you up and moving, but whats next?

The Shower!!

After you've worked up a small sweat jump in the shower and limit it to 10 minutes max! According to a BBC report the average shower is 8 minutes long. Thus, this should be a task easily managed.

However, what do you do while waiting for the water to warm-up? (here is a list of things you can do daily)

  1. Pluck your eyebrows: Doing this daily could help manage them from ever overgrowing.
  2. Blow your nose: I know it sounds odd, but seriously don't be the person picking their nose in the car.
  3. Drink some water: 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
  4. Decide what you will wear for the day: This may not be possible for everyone. I find this tends to be a quick task for guys, not so much for women. However, there are the exceptions in both cases.
  5. Clean up the bathroom:  Pretty simple to maintain your bathroom when you clean up before each shower. This is not a deep scrub.
  6. Clip your toenails: It's summertime and that means flip-flops. SO, keep those toes clean and cut.
  7. Clip your fingernails: Hangnails hurt. Need I say anymore?
  8. Refill the toilet paper: Is there anything worse than running low or out of TP.

***8 simple tasks anyone can do in a few seconds while the shower gets the perfect temperature. Pretty simple, right? If you have more please comment on this post and share your thoughts***

10 Minute Fitness

10 workouts in 10 minutes! Great morning start!

Recommended these are done prior to showering!
  1. Squats: This is an exercise you can do while brushing your teeth. Sure you may look funny doing it, but it can be done in the privacy of your house/bathroom.
  2. Calf Raises: Once you're finished with squats you will have time to do your calf raises. The best part about it is you're still brushing your teeth.
  3. Push-ups: After brushing away your morning breath you can "hit the deck" for some push-ups!
  4. Sit-ups: Now rollover on your back and get in your sit-up position and start feeling the burn...keep going you can do anything for 1 minute!
  5. Crunches: Alright you're pretty tired and feeling the burn so take it back a notch and only go up as far as you need to complete a crunch!
  6. Dips: Now grab two chairs and use these for your dips. Grasp one chair while facing the other chair and toss your legs up on the other chair. Slowly lower your body down and lift it back up. Now your arms and belly are burning!
  7. "K's": (Donkey Kicks) I refer to these as "K's" because you look like the letter K when doing it. Now get on all fours and keeping your legs bent lift one leg up and push your heal to the sky.
  8. Step-ups: If you have a small chair/stool/bench step up on it and back down. Repeat again and again for 1 minute.
  9. Jumping Jacks: Haven't done these since you were a child, well you now have permission to be a kid again and jump around. Jump rope is also a good workout too!
  10. Silence/meditation/prayer: Mental strength is as important as physical and when you take a minute to pray/meditate you can visualize and prepare for your day in an orderly fashion!
***Now if you're just starting out, it may be a good idea to take a minute break in between each workout. Therefore you may only start this new routine with the first 5 because your 10 minutes would end after the 5th workout!!***
